To be eligible for the Metis Fellowship you must:

  • Be a leader with an existing school or education organisation, or an entrepreneur launching a new school, education non-profit, or education business

  • Kenyan based in Nairobi

  • Able to meet requirements to successfully complete the Fellowship:

    • Attend monthly Communities of Practice

    • Dedicate approximately 4+ hours per week of work on initiative


Coaching: You will be paired with 2-5 mentors offering individualised support. With expertise in your field or your identified areas of growth (strategy, program design, financial modelling, setting and execution, and impact measurement) you will receive 1-on-1 coaching.

Connections: We link you to our strong network of advisors and service providers (legal, marketing, mental health etc.) spanning across borders. You will be connected to education events happening in Nairobi, Kenya, and across the globe.

Curriculum: We offer a design-thinking approach that will help you structure and create a high quality education initiative.

Communities of Practice: Through workshops, site visits, guest speakers, readings, and tools you will be equipped with the skills to drive change and sustain long term impact.

Platform: We give you access to a variety of platforms to share your ideas, spread your message, and get people invested in your initiative.
