The 7-month Fellowship supports leaders to drive higher quality education initiatives, by providing:

Community of Practice two Friday afternoons a month: workshops, guest speakers, site visits, readings, tools, and resources linked to practical capstone project, that equip Fellows with the mindsets and skills to:

  • Reimagine Education, learning with and from other Fellows about education innovations in Nairobi and around the world

  • Design Innovations that improve education quality and learning outcomes

  • Lead their teams to drive change and sustain long-term impact

1-1 Coaching for 2 hours a month: individualized support to strengthen skills and overcome growth areas (such as strategy, program design, goal setting and execution, impact measurement).

Curated Connections to sources of Talent: potential advisors, team members, vetted service providers (legal, marketing, mental health, etc) and Capital: opportunities for grants and impact investment, with support to pitch and apply. 

To be eligible for the Metis Fellowship, you must be:

  • A leader within an existing school or education organization, or an entrepreneur launching a new school, education non-profit, or education business

  • Committed to ensuring that all children attend schools that help them fulfill their potential, from early childhood, primary, secondary, to vocational and university

  • Open to learning, accelerating your leadership, and collaborating with other leaders from across Nairobi's education sector

  • Kenyan based in Nairobi

Applications for the 2017 Metis Fellowship are now closed. Applications for the 2019 cohort will open in mid-2018.
